Intimate Rose is a Shopify e-commerce store that sells products to promote sexual and reproductive health, such as dilators and supplements developed by Dr. Amanda Olson. The website is easy to use and offers secure online payment options. It's a convenient resource for those looking to improve their sexual and reproductive health.
Problem
The Shopify store was facing several issues that were negatively impacting its performance. One of the main problems was slow page speeds, which were caused by the presence of unused codes in the theme. This issue not only made the website less user-friendly, but it also caused the store to score lower on Google Page Speed Insights.
Another issue was that most of the content on the website had been manually added by editing the code, rather than being created using Shopify's templating engine. This made it more difficult to manage the website and make updates, as it required a higher level of technical expertise.
Overall, these issues were having a detrimental effect on the Shopify store and needed to be addressed in order to improve its performance and user experience. By addressing the page speed issues and implementing a more streamlined content management process, the store could achieve better results and provide a better experience for its customers.
Solution
To improve the performance and SEO of the Shopify store, I took the following steps:
Reduced the number of unused code and stored the theme in a git repository for robust version control.
Integrated themekit to allow for local coding, rather than using the Shopify website for coding.
Utilized metafields and created custom smart sections to better meet the store's marketing needs.
Removed unused and unnecessary apps that were impacting page speed.
By implementing these changes, I was able to streamline the store's theme and improve its page speed, which in turn had a positive impact on its SEO. By creating a more efficient and user-friendly website, we were able to provide a better experience for our customers and drive more traffic and sales to the store.
